I’ve been really happy overall with the Viking plunge. I’m using it indoors, positioned right outside our sauna, and it fits that setup extremely well. The build quality is excellent—it feels solid, well-made, and has a clean, premium look that works nicely in a finished indoor space. Performance-wise, it does exactly what you want. It gets cold reliably, maintains temperature well, and the initial setup was relatively straightforward compared to other systems I considered.
There are a few things worth calling out for anyone considering one. My unit arrived with a few minor blemishes on the top. Nothing that affected performance, and not a dealbreaker for me, but worth noting given the price point.
Also, be aware of the chiller setup. The chiller will not fit under the standard step stool—you’ll need to purchase the larger version. Even then, it’s not a simple drop-in fit. Getting the stool positioned around the chiller takes some effort and planning, so don’t expect it to just slide into place.
One operational quirk to keep in mind: after a power outage, the chiller does not automatically restart. If you’re away for a few days and lose power, the system will stay off, which can impact water quality and shorten the time between cleanings. It would be great if Viking added the ability to schedule the unit to turn back on automatically, not just off.
That said, customer service has been solid and responsive, and overall I’m very satisfied with the purchase. It’s a high-quality plunge that performs well—especially in a sauna/cold plunge setup—just go in with a clear understanding of the setup and a few of these nuances.
Local weldor (me!) built this stainless steel support bar above the tub. Very helpful. Plus, I use a three-foot stick to press myself down whilst doing breathing exercises.
I love my Nordic wave. It fits perfectly in my Zenden. It operates amazing. It’s quiet as can be and the level of customer service has been spectacular. I upgraded from the old louder chiller to the new quieter one and it was super easy.

After 5 minutes at 38 degrees, I feel refreshed and ready to take on the day. I love it.
Had it for about 4 months now and I use it almost daily and often multiple times a day. Quality is great, tub is very sturdy, I love the standing/squatting position. A Huge plus for me was that I can control from anywhere via the app and also turn it into a personal hot tub.

I’ve owned a few cold plunges , and this one stands out as the most thoughtfully engineered unit I’ve used.
First off, the aesthetics are top-notch. It looks premium, clean, and modern, making it something I’m actually proud to have in my space.
The chiller performs phenomenally. Whether I’m heating the water or bringing it down to cold plunge temperatures, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do and maintains temperature consistently. One of my favorite features is the ability to control the chiller directly from my phone. Being able to adjust settings remotely is incredibly convenient and makes using the plunge even easier.
The filtration system is another huge plus. Having dual filters keeps the water crystal clear and dramatically reduces maintenance. The water stays sparkling clean, which gives me confidence that the system is doing its job.
What really impressed me, though, is the attention to detail in the engineering. The vertical tub design is extremely well thought out, and small touches make a huge difference in day-to-day use. For example, the floor of the tub is slightly angled toward the dedicated drain, allowing the water to drain almost completely on its own. That may sound minor, but it’s a game changer when it comes time to clean and maintain the unit.
My previous plunge from another company was a headache to drain. I had to disconnect hoses and physically tip the entire tub over just to get the remaining water out. With this setup, draining is quick, simple, and efficient. It’s clear that the designers actually considered the user experience instead of just building another cold plunge.
I keep this one at 107 degrees all day long on my balcony, only because I have a unit from another company that I use for cold plunging. The Nordic Viking I keep heated for my contrast therapy rounds. Now that I’ve used the Viking Premier for over a month now I do plan on purchasing another setup in the future!
Overall, the combination of premium aesthetics, powerful heating and cooling performance, smartphone controls, dual filtration, easy drainage, and smart engineering makes this one of the best cold plunges I’ve ever owned. Highly recommended.
My new Viking Hybrid is IMPRESSIVE. I purchased it after researching options and knew it was well made but it impresses more in person. Setting it up was a breeze; the print and online guidance was almost overkill it was so simple. It took about fifteen minutes to connect everything and another fifteen to fill. I turned the chiller on and it was ready for plunge in less than an hour. HOWEVER, I'm not pleased with its size. The online specs indicate a footprint much smaller than the actual installed footprint. The online specs don't include how much room the valves and hoses require and the distance away the chiller ends up because of the hose length (I realize that also provides some flexibility in positioning and accessing the chiller but that isn't revealed in the online specs). I suspect others are also interested in the Viking Hybrid because of its small footprint and recommend Nordic Wave adjust its online specs to reflect the actual installed footprint dimensions.
I'm 6'2" and my wife is 5'5" and we selected the Hybrid for its easy access w/o requiring steps. The build quality is excellent and the chiller is very quiet. The setup was a breeze and took about 20 minutes. Sophie was incredibly helpful during the shopping phase. I was concerned about the size of the plunge and my height. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and eased my concerns about the Hybrid. We absolutely love it and it is the perfect size. Finally, Sophie continued to follow up after delivery as the plunge cover was on back order. If you're on the fence, don't be, this is a solid product with an excellent company behind it!
Phenomenal product, easy to use and maintain. Efficient through the first year. I love that it turns on automatically in freezing temps to avoid damaging the chiller (in case you're out of town, etc). The product looks great, not an I sore and offers a much smaller footprint than several of the other plunges I researches. I highly recommend.
Nordic Wave Cold Plunge Systems
I have to say—these Nordic Wave cold plunge units have been an outstanding addition to our practice.
We’ve had patients who have tried multiple cold plunge systems at other locations, and the feedback has been very consistent—they genuinely prefer these. One of the biggest things they notice right away is the upright design. It makes full-body immersion feel much more natural and comfortable, which really enhances the overall experience.
From my perspective as the operator, the ease of use has been a huge win. The temperature control is incredibly simple and very reliable. Once it’s set, it stays exactly where you want it—whether we’re running the cold plunge at 45°F or the heat at 107°F. It holds that temperature steadily for days without needing constant attention, which makes it very easy to manage in a busy clinical setting.
The water quality has also been excellent. The system keeps the water looking clean and sparkling with minimal effort. So far, maintenance has been very straightforward—mainly just using the fine net provided to remove any small debris from the surface. As usage increases, we’ll likely add a few more water treatments to keep everything perfectly balanced, but overall it’s been very low maintenance.
We’ve also added a digital push-button timer so patients can easily track how long they’ve been in and work toward their target duration, which has been a great enhancement to the experience.
I personally assembled both units, and honestly, it was not difficult at all. Everything was very manageable, and whenever I had a question, the Nordic Wave team was quick to respond and very helpful.
Overall, I’ve been extremely impressed. The quality, ease of use, and patient experience have all exceeded expectations, and I would absolutely recommend Nordic Wave to any practice looking to offer cold plunge therapy at a high level.

Absolutely Love starting every day with a workout and then Nordic Wave plunge! The first minute is attention-grabbing, and then the next four minutes are Zen-like! I’ve struggled with apathy and mild depression for most of my adult life. After doing some research, I decided to start cold plunging. I have to admit that climbing into an icy tub at 7 am every morning sucks.
After 2 straight weeks, I’ve noticed my mood increases, my joints feel better and I sleep more soundly.
I’d recommend it to anyone after checking with their doctor. I love it and make it a daily habit it. It’s worth more than any medication. 💪
We love love our XL Cold Plunges. They have been a big hit for our Loyly Finnish Saunas here in Burley Idaho. My wife has dreamed of creating an experience for people to enjoy. It is fun to see her eyes light up when customers say “This has been the best thing that we have done.” It has been cold here but with heat blankets they keep the cold plunges from freezing. We have around 50 guest per week and we have been only open for two weeks now. Cold plunges does take your breath away but makes your body feel new again. Thank you for a great product!
I have been cold plumbing for three years now, but wow! This Plunge just hits different. The Thermal layer is constantly disrupted which created a constant cold effect. I feel amazing after. EASY INSTALL which I as a non “Handy” kinda Man, really Appreciated 😂
